Res Nullius. Barcelona Port
In partnership with Barcelona Gat i Gos, we have designed and built an habitat for 60 cats in the Port of Barcelona. Ferral cats are free to roam around the Port area while sheltered and safe.

We are building a house around an idea: a central, porous exterior space where the family gets together. Around this space, circulation takes place, moving from rooms to rooms, without losing the presence of the exterior. The geometry of the house respect the only folding movement in the roof while accommodating the land underneath.
This design departs from the client’s existing organization of spaces in his apartment located in the Upper East Side in New York. The formal and experiential continuity between these spaces and the relationship and ambivalence of the rooms become the formal reference for a serial transformation that accommodates the conceptual aspects to a new topography. This metamorphosis proposes an alternative for habitation in the existing natural environment while fulfilling the visual and functional requirements.
From the transversal orientation of the original dwelling to the longitudinal axis of the new house: the design takes advantage of the sloping landscape to provide a new set of cascading domestic spaces. These rooms begin in the social sphere and end up in the space of the intimate self. Longitudinally, a strip of services, furniture, and structure temporally separates the continuous space of the house from the open circulation. The structure is embeded within this functional device, cantilevering to both sides of the house.
House for a camera man and a paraglider in Micheldorf, Austria. The cinematographic character of the house follows the logic of the existing landscape, articulating the views in a sequence of spaces. The house is articulated around a set of frames of everyday life.
The house explores issues of transparency and movement as generators of new kinds of domesticy.
This design reconsiders the relation between the inside and the outside, between north and south from a dynamic point of view, transiting from the different spaces and fostering visual connections.
This textile design relates the micro-scale of the thread with the macro scale of cosmos, a dual relation that becomes apparent in the inverted colors of both sides of the blanket.

This lamp is an exercise in geometry, order and variation. Through multiple triangulations, the objects provides an array of views, forms, and environments.
The apartment explores the integration of individual objects within the domestic space to articulate and expand the different programatic requirements. The result is a space that flows around the same continous piece of furniture, through all three levels of the penthouse - from the private bedroom to the roof terrace - while providing corners of unexpected object-subject relations.
The apartment unfolds from the humid functions of hygiene and self-care in the private areas to the social programs for gatherings of the upper levels.
The purpose of our intervention grows from the need to increase and connect the system of open public spaces in the neighborhood of La Ribera. Our aim is to relieve the high density of the area, which we can achieve by designing open space between the double program and minimizing the volumes of the new buildings: a center for aging citizens and a social hostel.
Centre Cultural. Barcelona
Our new cultural center explores ideas of structure as contextual mechanism. It identifies certain types within existing buildings and appropriates them for the maximization of program and spaces within the public institution. The structural elements allow for the insertion of a central square within the building: an environmental device for internal control.
We propose a set of circles as protective devices against the climatic conditions of the site and the adjacent airport. They become the morphological identity for the construction of programatic units, pockets of subjective leisure within an otherwise unnoticed area.
The master plan for the city of Ås in Norway proposes a space of cultural identity and social engagement in the plot assigned; a common arena where public gatherings, informal markets, regional festivities, and open concerts could take place.Its location close to the existing rail transportation accelerates the cultural exchanges between Ås and the Oslo metropolitan area.

Towards Ecological Brutalism. This project speculates with the capacity of micro-interventions in relation to existing major infrastructural operations to regenerate lost civic and social values in the urban environment. Through the use of water as a medium, the project provides a collection of functional solutions at the metropolitan scale and new economic and social ecologies for citizens currently unavailable.
Anglesola Civic Center
The proposal accepts a radical programatic division, extending it in time. Halfway between preservation and a new urbanism, the projects envelops the existing façade with the social center and implodes towards the inside to receive in the future the planned housing units of the nursing home. At the same time, during the first phase, the volume helps to preserve and consolidate the perimeter of the existing neoclassic façade. In the second phase, the project completes the functional program with a stark volumetric intervention.

Housing in Riga
Expeculative proposal for a housing development and office implementation in Riga, Latvia. The geometry of the functional blocks and the towers for energy managment, create an open plaza open to the city.

The concept for the competition for the new headquarters of the Architecture Foundation in Córdoba is a filter between the exterior urban space and the interior public patio, full of gardens and open activities.
Through the use of a geometrical continuous strip that divides the program between the upper public exhbitions and the lower offices, the project becomes in itself a prototype for a threshold, negotiating the different urban levels. A ramp crossing the building welcomes citizens to the interior of the urban block.

The floating swimming pool in Rooterdam interrogates issues of mobility and dynamism within architecture. By providing a slanting, movable volume that responds to the impact of the tides, the building becomes a becon and a signifier for the city.

We accept the peripheral condition and the topological aspects of the site as a positive fact: the shape of the ground is unique and it determines the final morphology for our proposal.
The roof of the building is fixed at level +100, establishing a strong relationship with the dry, rough environment and its spectacular views to the ocean.
